Ephedra and Ephedrine HCl
Ephedra is a natural ingredient of an old Chinese herb which has been
used for 5000 years already and is known as Ma Huang. It has been used
to treat hay fever, asthma and various kinds of allergies. Ephedra
is totally safe because it’s a natural herb but when it’s
not properly used it can be dangerous and harmful to the health of
individual.
The use of Ephedra causes the following physiological reactions in
body: the heart rate increases, the blood vessels become constricted,
bronchial tubes expand. Ephedra is a strong stimulant of various systems
of human body and combined with another stimulant, for example caffeine,
it produces even higher level of stimulation.
As a result of such stimulation the person who uses Ephedra get also
the suppressing of the appetite. All reactions of the body take place
at the same time and can’t take place when other reaction is
absent.
In 1990’s a new product considered to be a supplement suppressing
appetite appeared in food stores. It was called Ephedra and all that
a customer knew about it was that this supplement would help them to
get rid of fat and loose the weight without efforts. People taking Ephedrine
fat burners receive the increased ability to burn more calories
and fat in a short time period.
We should distinguish ephedra and “herbal” ephedra because
the second is used in production of weight loss supplements and derived
from herbal Ma Huang. Pseudoephedrine is an ephedra alkaloid and considered
to be less potent than ephedrine. Ephedrine based products contain
higher concentration of alkaloids than the products containing Ma Huang,
or ephedra.
Ephedrine HCl is a synthetically produced type of ephedra which is
used as an expectorant for bronchial asthma and a nasal decongestant.
So weight loss
diet pills, fat burning
supplements and other products based on herbal ephedra are natural
and safe when it’s properly used. But of course it has side
effects about which we should mention. Some users of ephedra based
fat burning supplements have such body reactions as skin reactions,
depression, nervousness, headaches, irritability, sleeping problems,
poor digestion, heart problems and diseases, hypertension, respiratory
failure,
Note: The version of ephedrine
HCL presented here was not banned by the US Government.
